Piccino Moves and Improves!

The newest addition to our rapidly reinventing neighborhood, The Yellow Building, is an original victorian structure from the early days of the historic neighborhood, circa 1841 with its stable and mews still intact. It's been transformed into a complementary grouping of shops including the a new and fabulously spacious Piccino Cafe that has moved from the Eastern corner of on Tennessee Street one block west, MAC clothing that sells an edited selection of designer clothing, gift items, and a superlative collection of spices from our friends Amaryll Schwertner and Lori Regis of Boulette's Larder in the Ferry Plaza downtown, and DIG wines by Wayne Garcia, partner of Sher Rogat, of Piccino. Don't miss it: 1005 Minnesota @ 22nd Street across the street from Rickshaw Bagworks. PS. word is there will be an artist studio workshop coming soon upstairs.

Michael Bauer Botches Top 100 Restaurants

How could anyone miss any of our little gems in Dogpatch when listing of the best 100 restaurants in San Francisco? I know there are a lot of great places to eat so the competition is stiff, however, we certainly have our share of treasures and the lonely map of Potrero Hill is absent of any attention whatsoever. Most notably, Serpentine and Piccino, which rival any market-to-table casual dining spot on the list, with far fewer parking hassels. San Francisco International Film Festival April 22-May 6

I just received the guide to the 53rd SF International Film Festival. There is nothing else like disappearing into this dizzying array of over 300 films from all over the world. I've seen some of my favorite films here in the past, and am still wishing they were available to see again, but alas, distribution of independent films is still elusive, even with instant downloads.
